To access My HUgo, email and Blackboard, we recommend the following:


Windows XP or later
Mac OS 10.5 or higher

Internet Explorer 9 or 10 (Windows)
Mozilla Firefox 3.6 or higher
Safari 4.0 or higher

DSL or Cable Internet Service Provider

If you are using AOL, please do *not* use the AOL browser. Instead, minimize AOL and use one of the recommended browsers.

The Google Chrome and Internet Explorer 11 browsers are NOT currently supported.

Currently, we are experiencing an issue with Java version 7U51 and Blackboard Collaborate sessions, which may be causing an "unable to launch the application" error message. Blackboard is working on a fix for this. In the meantime, there is a workaround you can perform if you're using version 7U51 of Java, described here.

Some of Hodges University's online technologies utilize the Java plugin, an independent piece of software that ties in with your web browser of choice. Java and web browsers in general are regularly updated by the manufacturer, frequently for the purpose of patching potential security issues. It is the end-user's responsibility to maintain current, patched versions of the software, while still complying with the more general software requirements specified by Hodges University, and to stay apprised of any software updates that may be required to patch security issues.

When changing your password, the new password must meet the following requirements:

  • Between 8 and 16 characters long
  • At least two character types (letters, numbers, symbols)
  • Cannot contain your username
  • Cannot be a password you have used recently (within the last 5 password changes)!
  • Try to use a password that is not easily guessable -- passwords containing words such as "hodges" "university" and "college" will not be accepted!
